Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of services provided by Milord Home Services LLC (“Milord Home Services”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By submitting an inquiry, accepting a quote, or otherwise engaging us for work, you agree to these Terms.
Quotes and estimates
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated in writing. Quotes are based on the information provided in your inquiry and any subsequent communication. If on-site conditions differ materially from what was described — for example, hidden water damage, outdated wiring, or structural issues discovered during the work — we will notify you and provide a written change order before continuing.
Scheduling and cancellations
Once you approve a quote and a time is scheduled, we will send confirmations by SMS or email. You can reschedule or cancel by replying to those messages or by calling us. We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations where possible. Last-minute cancellations may be subject to a trip charge if our crew has already been dispatched.
Payment
Payment is due upon completion unless deposits or progress payments are agreed in writing. We accept major credit cards through our secure payment processor (Stripe) — card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by us. For larger jobs we may agree to milestone payments — these are always documented in writing before work begins.
Late payments past 30 days may be subject to a 1.5% monthly finance charge to the extent permitted by New York law.
Workmanship and warranty
We stand behind our work. Labor on most jobs is warranted for one year from the date of completion. Manufacturer warranties on parts and materials apply per the manufacturer's terms. Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, normal wear and tear, or work modified by other parties after our completion.
Photos and documentation
We may take photos of your job site for documentation, quality control, and warranty defense. We do not use customer photos for marketing without explicit permission. If you do not want photos taken, let us know before we start the job.
SMS messaging
If you opt in to SMS notifications via the consent box on our inquiry form, you agree to receive automated messages from Milord Home Services related to your service request. Message frequency varies — typically 4–10 messages per active job. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. SMS opt-in data is never shared with third parties for any purpose. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Liability
Milord Home Servicescarries general liability insurance and workers' compensation as required by New York law. Our liability for any claim arising from our work is limited to the amount paid by you for the specific job giving rise to the claim, except where applicable law requires otherwise. We are not liable for consequential or indirect damages.
Permits and code compliance
Where a permit is required by local code, we will pull it or coordinate with you on pulling it. Permit fees are billed at cost and are typically reflected in your quote. All work is performed to applicable code at the time of completion.
Disputes
If something isn't right, please contact us first — most issues are resolved with a phone call. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes that cannot be resolved between us will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, New York.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated to active customers via the contact method on file.
